SeaBeard McGee

This July saw the launch of the amazing Drawgasmic exhibition and book! Put together by the ever-cool team at Cranky Yellow.

“We’re bringing together the work of 1000 international artists, illustrators, and designers in an exhibition and book unlike anything ever created before!”

My contribution is “Seabeard McGee” (above), and you should see some of the others! There are so many good ones to choose from. All works are for sale. Have a look!

Extempore Show

Monday, June 7th, 2010

I have works in a show, Extempore, at Open Studio; a graffiti based gallery. Each artist was encouraged to paint the walls before hanging the show over the top. So I got to try out some spray paint!

The Extempore show will be on display for the next two weeks at:

Open Studio
2/25 Vernon St,
Coffs Harbour

The Wedding Show

Sunday, May 30th, 2010

This weekend we attended to the wedding of some friends. The groom is a cartoonist and the wedding was held in a gallery. Instead of wedding gifts they asked each guest to create a cartoon or illustration to hang in the gallery for their wedding.

The gallery, in turn, is holding an exhibition of them all, not just for one night, but for the next few weeks. There were over 60 works, and they were amazing!

Incredible Print Show

Friday, May 29th, 2009

I was invited to take part in ‘The Incredible Print Show’ at artstream studios, NH, USA.
Showing throughout May and June, ‘The Incredible Print Show’ is nothing short of a massive lineup of artists, from all over, come together to present an exhibition of affordable art. An initiative to keep the art world ticking over during the dreaded G.F.C!

All forms of prints and printmaking were welcomed, resulting in a diverse and broad range of work on show.

I created two new works for the show; one-off monoprints with handpainted detail. I call them my Buttercup Bluejay’s.

The show is up until the end of June, and all works are for sale online here.

Curvy 2009

Wednesday, April 29th, 2009

The beginning of April saw the launch of Curvy 6, both book and Sydney exhibition. “CURVY 6 features the world’s most exciting female graphic artists, illustrators and designers in one highly collectible, limited edition book.” Once again I was thrilled to be included in the book, but this year I also got to include 3 works in the show too!

The Sydney exhibition is on until the 17th April at:
Mori Gallery, 168 Day Street Sydney (between China Town & Darling Harbour)

The Curvy 6 book is now on sale in good arty bookstores, and online here.

I’m off to Sydney for the rest of April to see the show, re-stock the AGNSW with my cards, and generally have a good time. My online store will be closed until I return and restock it again in early May. Please check back then for a new range of cards and limited edition prints.

Women of the World

Sunday, March 29th, 2009

During March, the Bunker Gallery (in an actual undergound bunker) in Coffs Harbour, hosted an international exhibition titled ‘Women of the World’, to coincide with International Womens Day. Showcasing 91 works, by 51 different female illustration and cartoon artists, from 23 countries!!! Countries far and wide, like Azerbaijan.

I was lucky enough to have 2 of my works included in the show, alongside a diverse range of intelligent work, in an amazing and unique art space.

Affirmations Exhibition

Monday, September 29th, 2008

img_affirmationsinviteThe Affirmations exhibition, that I’m part of at artstream studios in New Hampshire, USA, opened at the start of September.

I made twenty new works exclusively for this show, to hang alongside paintings by Penelope Dullaghan, stencil works by Amy Rice, and softy sculptures by Sian Keegan.

Each of us interpreted our ideas of “affirmations” and responded with images of how and where we source our own positivity. Coincidentally all of our works have come together sharing a strong theme of nature, so I’m told the gallery is looking very bright, joyous and flowery right now 🙂

The exhibition runs through to the end of October, and all works can be purchased online here until then. Feel free to contact me for more information.

Visit the Gallery section of this site to see some of the works in the show.
